Pool supplies can be purchased from a variety of suppliers that are found online or in your local directory. Pool supplies are those extra accessories that one adds to your pool to keep them clean, sanitized and ultimately end up saving you time and money. With today’s hectic lifestyle a swimming pool has truly become a lifestyle trait but not everybody has time to spend on the extra effort of maintenance, pool supplies are therefore used to make things just that little bit easier.

One of the most essential pool supplies is a pool cover. Pool covers are beneficial in the sense that they save time cleaning the pool and they increase the pools temperature. Depending on how much you want to spend, pool covers are found in a wide variety of shapes, sizes and each fulfill a different purpose. Many pools are found in standard shapes and sizes; in this instance, purchasing a pool cover off the shelf is easy, there are however some pools that are shaped according to ones personal specifications and this may require that one has to have a pool cover custom made to your individual requirements, these are extremely cost-effective.

Pool covers are found in three varieties that one can choose from, the first option is that of a solar pool cover. This type of pool cover is heavy duty, dark in color and is extremely thick and its main purpose is to increase the temperature of the water in the pool, thus saving money on heating. A second option is that of a safety cover. Safety covers are essential when one has children and/or pets that are constantly around the pool area. This form of pool supply will avoid your children and/or animals from falling into the water and thereby prevent unforeseen accidents. The third option for a pool cover is that of a winter cover. During the winter months pools tend to become dirty due to debris, a winter cover will prevent the unnecessary build up and maintain your pools cleanliness.

Pool thermometers are also pool supplies that are extremely useful and beneficial. Pool thermometers measure the temperature of the water, this is essential especially for young kids. Many times, it may be hot outside but the water temperature may be freezing, for children, knowing the temperature of the water will prevent unnecessary colds and flu from emerging. Two types of thermometers are available on the market, namely, hanging and floating. What is beneficial about hanging thermometers is that they measure the water temperature for up to 7 inches and therefore give a good indication of the overall water temperature. Floating thermometers only measure the top layer of water and the overall reading will not be accurate, (the water on the pool surface is warmer) but floating thermometers are decorative and look great in any pool. Other pool supplies include pool heaters, sanitizers, pool cleaners and ionizers, each serving a particular purpose to keep your pool water healthy, bacteria and dirt free and looking beautiful all seasons of the year.
